Benromach Distillery

Benromach DistilleryBenromach Distillery was established in Forres in 1898 and closed down in 1983.

10 years later Benromach was purchased by its current owners, Gordon and MacPhail, and after 5 years of careful renovations, HRH the Duke of Rothesay joined the Urquhart family (owners of G&M) to officially reopen Benromach in 1998.

Benromach has been welcoming visitors from across the globe since 1999, when the Visitor Centre was opened, and are proud members of the Malt Whisky Trail.

With just 4 distillers, Benromach makes award-winning single malt whisky without the aid of computers – hand crafting it in a traditional, old fashioned style.

Benromach DistilleryMaking whisky by hand is a rare craft these days and we are proud to show off our craft to visitors all year round; we offer an intimate, bespoke customer experience to everyone that chooses to visit us. These range from our entry level Classic Tour – a guide takes guests on a leisurely stroll through the distillery, telling the Benromach story as they go – to our exclusive Distillery Manager's Experience where guests are immersed in the Benromach story and leave with a limited edition bottle of Benromach to take home and enjoy.
