Inverness Ice Centre is set in a great location close to the banks of the River Ness, next to the city's main leisure complex and opposite the Bught Park playing fields.
The centre first opened its doors in 1967 and to this day provides an excellent facility for enjoying ice sports, boasting a five-rink arena for curling, ice skating and ice hockey, with a café bar and a lounge bar which enjoys a perfect view over the ice pad.
The facility is open for curling from September through until March and plays host to a great number of prestigious national and international competitions throughout the season, with curlers coming from far and wide to enjoy the traditional hospitality... So, no matter what age you are, why not "come and try" your hand at curling? Or, if you are a business or group and are looking for that something different or a team-building event, then the centre offers corporate curling packages. It can arrange for your coaching to be with an Olympic, world or European gold medallist, provide prizes and let you take home a keepsake DVD of your fun and antics on the ice. The centre can even arrange food and drinks to cater for your party.
Ice skating is available with public sessions running most days from April until August and at weekends during the curling season. Recent TV programmes have highlighted and revived all things ice, so if you are seeking the "in" activity then look no further: ice skating is definitely back! Whether it's sessions to "skate with your mates" or if you're looking for somewhere for the whole family to enjoy, come along and join in the fun. Family skate tickets start at just £18, including your session and skate hire.
The Ice Centre is just 15 minutes' walk along the River Ness and with easy access by road, with free car-parking for users. There is disabled access throughout the centre, including parking, lift facilities, ramp access in the lounge bar and disabled toilets on all floors.
