PERHAPS the greatest survivors of the punk era, The Stranglers have gone from rock rebels to being the first of their peers to play at the Royal Albert Hall.
Over the 40 years in between, they have also managed to notch up 23 UK top 40 singles and 17 UK top 40 albums and still have the reputation of being a formidable live act – something they demonstrated at last summer’s Belladrum festival.
They return to the Highlands this evening (March 4) for a show at The Ironworks as part of a national tour showcasing their third album Black & White, which reached number two in the UK charts after its release in May 1978.
The Men in Black will be playing the album in its entirety, along with additional material, new and old.
Joining them at The Ironworks will be fellow rock veterans, Welsh act The Alarm, led by original frontman Mike Peters.
