Event of the Week: Something to shout about

YOU wait ages for an internationally successful Scottish pop act to come to Inverness, then two come along in the same week.

Following close on the heels of Wet Wet Wet, who appeared at Inverness Leisure on Monday, Scottish songstress Lulu has an appointment at Eden Court on Friday evening (March 18).

One of Scotland’s most enduring music stars, she is celebrating 50 years as a recording artist with a brand new album, but this rare chance to see her in Inverness will no doubt include a look back at some of the highlights from that half century career.

One which includes topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, a winning song for the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, recording a James Bond theme, appearing in musicals on the West End stage and on film alongside Sidney Poitier and becoming the first British female singer to appear behind the Iron Curtain.
