JAMAICAN music legend Lee “Scratch” Perry has worked with almost everyone from the Heptones to the Skatalites to the Clash.

And when he takes the stage at the Ironworks on Saturday, March 11, reggae fans might want to remember that he married up one Bob Marley to Peter Tosh, then Bunny Wailer with the Barnet Brothers – who had been at the heart of Lee’s own group, the Upsetters. So, Bob Marley and the Wailers was born.

Lee began as a singer and engineer for Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One in Kingston and went on to produce such things as classic albums for Bob Marley and The Wailers.

His own music is filled with stream of consciousness flows with themes that include everything from aliens to justice.
