Located on the Chanonry Peninsula in the 'Black Isle', our Scottish links golf course enjoys breathtaking views over the Moray Firth, very close to the City of Inverness (15 miles), where we are surrounded by the sea on three sides.
We are confirmed as being the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793). The course was later re-designed by five-time Open Champion James Braid in 1932. There is documentary evidence of golf being played over 'Chanonry' – which is now called Fortrose – dating back to 1702.
Playing on one of the finest links golf courses in Scotland is a must for your golfing calendar, especially as we are so close to other distinguished links courses in the area such as Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart and Nairn. The course has received accolades such as 'perhaps the best jewel in the Highland golfing crown' and 'a unique course with special character to be found nowhere else'.
The course is open every day of the year and we welcome golfers from all over the world to play on this fantastic links course which has hosted seven national championships since 2010 and will continue to do so in the years ahead.
The course measures 6085 yards and the greens are not just fast, but also deceptive, with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout – the trademark of the all-time master of bunkering, James Braid. Whilst the course is playing to its full capacity, members, their guests and any golfers visiting our links can play from ANY of our tees. You may also catch sight of our resident bottlenose dolphins close to our signature hole on the 4th, or whilst teeing it up on the 5th or 6th holes, so keep an eye out! The course par is 71 with an SSS of 69.
Catering is available throughout the year where we also offer package deals for golf and food before or after your round on our historic links golf course and whilst doing so you can take in the magnificent views from our clubhouse.
Visiting golfers are most welcome to come and play on our links course all year round. We can also assist with finding you suitable accommodation and places to visit whilst you are here in the Highlands.
