Ally Ridgers' Monster plans for this weekend

INVERNESS DJ Ally Ridgers stepped into the presenter role for two weekly dance shows broadcast on Monster FM last week for the whole of September.

For the last two years, Ally – well-known to Highland dance fans in his Soundclash guise – has built up the specialist dance music content.

From programming DJ sessions in 2012 that included many of the most exciting and up-and-coming local DJs and producers, last year saw Ally adding to the mix a weekly show devoted to underground sounds, presented by Andy Stone.

But this year, as well as all the usual DJ exclusive sessions, he will present a weekly Saturday night show devoted to new, underground sounds.

He also will present the Friday Old Skool show.

“After taking part for the last two years, I decided to take the Radioskills full VQ Qualification.

“I’ve learned a lot and each year has been a progression for me.”

The Old Skool show is on Fridays (10pm to midnight). The SoundClash Show can be heard on 106.1FM on Saturdays throughout September from 9-11pm.

Both shows will be followed by The SoundClash DJ Showcase mixes until 3am.

Ally said: "Among the big DJs we’ve got doing exclusive mixes this month will be Pete Tong’s future star of 2014, Barrientos plus DVWLX (Black Butter Records).

This week looks like this:

Friday: 10pm-12am Old Skool Show. 12-3am SoundClash DJ Showcase With Vault95, Young Cardinals and Darren Hamilton

Saturday: 9-11pm SoundClash Radio show presented by Ally Ridgers. 11pm-3am SoundClash DJ Showcase with Scott Langley, Clyde Rouge, G-Reg (Jungle Nation) and David Campbell.

And there's also a big night for Ally this Saturday at Karma Lounge, Inverness with the annual SoundClash/Monster FM party from 10pm. Check Facebook
