NEXT Friday (January 15) sees the final batch of Skye Live 2016 tickets go on sale after the first one sold out when the full line-up was revealed in December.

Event organiser Niall Munro said: “The eclectic line up has obviously excited people while the beautiful island location has created even more buzz. We’re confident Skye Live will be THE boutique Scottish music festival of 2016.”

Ticket sales may also have been boosted by the recent awards’ success of some of the acts too.

Treacherous Orchestra, Rura and A League of Highland Gentlemen each scooped a prize at the Scots Trad Music Awards and Ame, Bicep and Jackmaster made it into the top 20 of Resident Advisor’s top 100 poll.

A new booking has just been added as this goes to press, with Breabach to perform on the Saturday.

Organisers revealed that last year’s launch event was a sell-out  and heavily oversubscribed and urge would-be festival goers who want to secure their tickets shouldn’t hang around.

"Shake-off those January blues and buy your tickets now at www.eventbrite.co.uk priced at: Fri £55, Sat £55, WKND £95,” said Niall.

The  two-day event is taking place ahead of the May Day bank holiday April 29 and 30 at the King George V Sports Ground, Portree.
