CANADIAN Heidi makes it clear what kind of music she loves on her Facebook description – "booty-shakin’ house, techno and disssssco".
And good news for those who love her Radio 1 shows and Jackathon brand is that she’s bringing it all to Inverness Ironworks Saturday, February 13.
For that night, Heidi will be joined by Filth DJs, Mark MacKenzie and Ally Ridgers.
Heidi developed a passion for underground dance music long before she moved to London in 2000 to immerse herself in the UK music scene, going on to play her part in influential record shop Phonica.
From there she began to help put together sets for top DJs and became a budding DJ herself, working with the Get Physical label in Berlin where she lives.
In 2008, she landed a monthly slot on the BBC’s In New DJ’s You We Trust on Radio 1 and now also has her own Thursday night residency.
Starting and taking on tour her own Jackathon night in 2009 – Heidi featured all her favourite influcences and inviting them to guest with her, including Richie Hawtin, Soul Clap, Solomun, Maceo Plex, Nicolas Jaar and Derrick Carter.
Then in 2011, she created a Jackathon compilation, released on her home label, Get Physical, and went on to create a sub-label called Heidi Presents Jackathon Jams.
Heidi’s played to 25,000 in Latin America andfestivals including Exit, Global Gathering, Detroit’s Movement, Fabric, Japan’s Womb and hosting her Jackathon residency in Ibiza, London, Berlin’s Watergate and Manchester.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday, January 15).
