BELLADRUM has announced five more acts for the sold-out festival next month – including the return of veteran rockers Reef who celebrate their 21st anniversary this year.
The band from Glastonbury – which played Loopallu last year – has scored three top 10 albums, including 1997’s number one Glow.
The band have also had a string of hit singles including anthem and festival singalong favourite Place Your Hands.
The other new names announced for the festival on Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, are multi-instrumentalist rhythm and blues siblings Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, Blackpool’s Rae Morris who recently provided vocals for the Bombay Bicycle Club single Luna, Dorest singer-songwriter Roo Panes and emerging artist Daniel James.
Tom Jones headlines the Friday night, while the Saturday night features rock band Razorlight at the top of the bill. Frightened Rabbit will return to the event as very special guests.
Also featured will be Billy Bragg, Band of Skulls, Grandmaster Flash, The Temperance Movement, I Am Kloot, Adrian Emondson & The Bad Shepherds, Catfish & The Bottlemen, nine below zero, The Mekons with Robbie Fulks, Casual Sex; Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire, George Barnett, The New Picadillys and many others including Hollie Atkinson from Inverness, the 2013 winner of Bella’s Got Talent.
Belladrum 2014 is sited at Belladrum Estate, near Beauly.
The independent festival has built a reputation in its 10 years so far for eclectic line-ups, offbeat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach.
It won a VisitScotland Thistle Award in 2009 and is a past winner of the Grassroots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards, the festival industry’s ‘Oscars’.
