CALIFORNIA rocker Marco Mendoza returns to the Highlands in May for a show at Hootananny’s upstairs venue Mad Hatters.
Mendoza has previously performed in Inverness as a member of Thin Lizzy and spin-off band Black Star Riders, but his Friday May 6 show will see him making his debut under his own name.
Not quite a solo show, he will be accompanied by long time drummer Pino Liberti and Fabio Cerrone (Eric Martin, Joe Lynn Turner, Blaze Bayley) on guitar.
A member of Australian-American rock collective The Dead Daisies alongside members of Guns ’n’ Roses, INXS and members of the Rolling Stones live band, Mendoza has performed mainly as a bass player with a number of leading rock bands and artists over the years.
These include Blue Murder, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Neal Schon and Soul SirkUS, Lynch Mob, as well as guesting with other artists such as Dolores O’Riordan from the Cranberries.
He lives in Los Angeles and when not touring can often be found playing local jazz clubs with Joey Heredia and Renato Neto and other musicians.
Support comes from Beth Blade and The Beautiful Disasters, a melodic hard rock band from Cardiff.
Tickets for the Inverness show are available from www.hootanannyinverness.co.uk and www.fatsoma.com/goodtimesroll
