ABERDEEN'S His Majesty's Theatre has been added to the UK and Ireland tour schedule for a new production of one of Cole Porter's most famous musical comedies, Anything Goes, next summer.
Directed by Daniel Evans and choreographed by Alistair David, the brand new production of Cole Porter's classic, award-winning musical comedy, Anything Goes, is set in the golden Hollywood age of tap dancing and high society.
It will be staged at HMT from Monday to Saturday, July 20-25, 2015.
Rebecca Quigley, CEO of Stage Entertainment UK, said: "I'm very excited to be working with Daniel and Alistair, whose work I have loved over the last 10 years.
"They're the perfect creative team to stage this hugely entertaining musical comedy."
The musical tells the story of Billy Crocker who discovers that his heart's desire, debutante heiress Hope Harcourt, is engaged to an English aristocrat, and stows away aboard the impressive SS American to win her back, aided by a string of eccentric passengers on board the luxurious transatlantic liner.
Featuring the rich sounds of a live orchestra and a sensational 26-strong cast, Porter's uplifting song and dance masterpiece features I Get a Kick Out of You, You're the Top, It's De-Lovely and signature number Anything Goes.
Since its 1934 stage debut at the Alvin Theatre, now known as the Neil Simon Theatre, on Broadway, the musical has been revived several times in the US and Britain and has been filmed twice.
Tickets for the Aberdeen shows are on sale now online at www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, by phone on 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office outlets at the Music Hall and His Majesty's Theatre.
