STARS of this year’s Eden Court panto, Aladdin, brought some magic to Inverness as they together for the first time for the show’s photoshoot.
"Panto season is the busiest, craziest and most fun time of the year for us," Eden Court chief executive Colin Marr said.
"The photoshoot is the first time the characters come alive and we know that panto is really on its way!"
The show stars familiar face at Eden Court Greg Powrie as Widow Twankey.
Also returning is Ross Allan, who played the villainous but dim Gob in last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty. This time he will take on the comic role of the lovable Wishee Washee alongside fellow cast members Elgin’s David Rankine as Aladdin, Ross Allan as the hapless Wishee Washee, Derek McGhie as Abanazar, Connor McAllister as Genie of the Lamp, Claire Darcy as Spirit of the Ring, Dani Heron as the Princess and Rebecca Maltman as So-Shi.
"I am excited to be appearing in my first panto at Eden Court," Rankine said.
"This won’t be my first Aladdin, but last time I was in it I was the Genie, so I am delighted to be playing the title role this year."
Greg Powrie, who once again is donning a dress to play the dame is also thrilled to be spending another festive season in Inverness. "Although it is hard work, panto is also a lot of fun and a great chance as a performer to let your hair down a bit and have a good time," he said.
"This will be my third year in Inverness now and feel like I am coming to understand the Inverness audience and their humour, and I really feel at home at Eden Court."
Preparations for this year’s show are already in full swing and tickets can be booked at Eden Court box office.
The show runs from Tuesday 2nd December 2014 until Sunday 4th January 2014.
