AUDIENCES at Eden Court are in for something special, according to theatre chief executive Colin Marr.
As someone we can safely assume has seen plenty of shows in his time, Marr was particularly impressed by Juliette Burton’s one-woman show When I Grow Up when he caught it in Edinburgh.
"It’s hard to recommend Juliette Burton highly enough," he said.
"I don’t think I’ve seen an audience so moved by a show,"
In this true-life comedy story, Juliette Burton, one half of award-winning duo Mace and Burton realises her childhood ambitions.
A ballerina, a princess, a pop star and even a Muppet, this show gives Burton the chance to be them all, at the same time as exploring the question of what being a grown up really means.
Making use of video interviews with the public, guest appearances from the likes of Randy — the purple puppet half of comedy duo Sammy J and Randy — and original music score and animation, Burton looks back to the futures she dreamed of and what they tell her about her life now.
• Juliette Burton: When I Grow Up is at the OneTouch Theatre, Eden Court, on Friday 3rd October at 7pm.
