Award-winning comedian Tom Allen is set to bring his debut solo tour to the north of Scotland.
The stand up, described as the "sharply dressed, well-spoken, disparagingly camp son of working class Bromley”, brings his show Absolutely across the area – with gigs at The Drouthy Cobbler in Elgin on Saturday, June 23; Eden Court in Inverness on Sunday, June 24; and The Ceilidh Place in Ullapool on Monday, June 25.
Starting as a stand-up at the age of 22 back in 2005, he started to gain national attention after winning both So You Think You’re Funny in Edinburgh and the BBC New Comedy during the same year.
Since then, he has gone on to perform sets in clubs across the UK and around the world.
TV watchers will recognise him from several shows over the years – including Mock The Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Live at the Apollo, The Great British Bake Off’s Extra Slice, The John Bishop Show and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala at the O2.
He has also built up a presence on the airwaves, with appearances on long-running BBC Radio 4 shows Just a Minute and The News Quiz.
Last year he was the support act for UK comedy megastar – and longtime friend – Sarah Millican on her sold out tour of Australia, New Zealand and Britain.
The tour has been put together by Beyond Presents and Off the Kerb. For more information, or to book tickets, go to www.beyondhighlands.com
