EDEN Court has not one, but two Mercury Award nominated artists visiting its OneTouch Theatre in the coming week.
Firstly, and from closer to home, is Glasgow singer-songwriter C Duncan on Monday January 23.
Hotly tipped by the likes of Mojo, Uncut and The Guardian, he made the Mercury Prize shortlist with his debut alum Architect. Expect songs from this and recent follow up The Midnight Sun.
On Wednesday, coming all the way from Devon (via a stop off at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow over the weekend) is Seth Lakeman, who has become a regular visitor to the north since his second solo album Kitty Jay got its own Mercury Prize nomination back in 2007.
A key force in the revival of English folk music over the past decade, Lakeman’s solo show centres on songs from his eighth studio album, Ballads of the Broken Few, made with the help of star producer Ethan Johns (Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon etc)
