Opera Alba 1
Opera Alba will entertain Music Nairn next Saturday.
SHOWSTOPPERS, medleys and humour from Opera Alba will end the Music Nairn season with a flourish next Saturday (March 10).

Musical guests for the end of season gala night at Nairn Community and Arts Centre is Opera Alba  – a quartet of singers who all have impressive careers in opera and oratorio led by soprano Daisy Henderson and accompanied by piano.

All currently work with Scottish Opera, but individually they have appeared at the Royal Opera, Opera North, English National Opera, Garsington, Paris Opera,  D’Oyly Carte, the Edinburgh Festival and all of them perform oratorio throughout the UK.

Polish pianist Micha Gajzier trained in Cracow, and has recently completed a postgraduate degree in repetiteurship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

The concert on Saturday starts with some favourite showstoppers from Carmen, La Traviata, Cosi Fan Tutti, and The Pearl Fishers, followed by well known operetta, including Gilbert and Sullivan, Lehar and Strauss.

Some Flanders and Swan and Tom Lehrer provide black humour, while the evening ends in a flourish with songs from the shows, including medleys from My Fair Lady and Gershwin.

After a successful season, Music Nairn invites you to enjoy Opera Alba’s programme and order a glass of sparkling wine.

The concert begins at 7.30pm with tickets on sale in advance at the centre, also available on the night of the concert.
