Moray Golf Club

On the sparkling shores of the Moray Firth, in one of the UK's driest climates, sits Moray Golf Club at Lossiemouth.

Watched over by the Stevenson-designed Covesea Lighthouse, Moray boasts two classic 18 hole links courses – 36 completely unique holes – with each course offering a different golfing experience.

Lossiemouth lies at the end of the A941, the Route 66 of malt whisky, and Moray Golf Club forms the beating heart of a string of championship links courses stretching from Royal Aberdeen to Royal Dornoch. Castle Stuart, Nairn and Trump International form the rest of this top quality north circuit.

Using the Moray links as a base, this is described as the "ultimate un-pack once" golf trip, as all the other championship courses are in easy striking distance on a day trip, with still time to spare at the end of the day for a few holes in the gloaming.

The Old Tom Morris Moray Old links have played host to a long line of amateur and professional tournaments as well as exhibition matches since 1901, featuring legends of the game. The signature 18th hole, playing to the arena of the final green and the imposing clubhouse, has merited the tag of "the finest finishing hole in the country".

The Moray New links carries the stamp of Henry Cotton, though many of the holes date from 1910. The signature 10th hole runs along the beach towards the lighthouse, playing to a green hewn from the dunes, and not a single bunker in sight.

Moray Golf Club has been proud to host The Northern Open, Scottish Professional Championships, Scottish Strokeplay Championships, Scottish Amateur Championships, Scottish Ladies Amateur Championships, Home Internationals, R&A Boy's Home Internationals, EuroPro Tour, Paul Lawrie Junior Jug... and many a Jolly Boys outing!

Laid out on the flat Moray coastline, even 36 holes in one day won't exhaust you.

The club has been weaned on malt whisky. Some of our founder members were distillers and as such, they ensured that a specially bottled and labelled malt has been in place since the very beginning in 1889. That tradition continues today and the club stocks every malt from Moray and Speyside and far beyond.
