THE Highland-based publishers Sandstone Press have won the British Book Awards’ Scottish section in the small press of the year award category.

They had been among five Scottish finalists and 40 small presses from all over the country to have been included on the full list.

Philip Jones, chair of the judges and editor of The Bookseller magazine, had said of the list: “For a second year, the shortlist showed how publishing is thriving across the regions and countries of the United Kingdom and Ireland.”

As a result of the coronavirus, the final of the British Book Awards – "the Nibbies" – has now been moved back from May 18 to June 29.
