Inverness creative conference XpoNorth – dates announced for June in Eden Court with delegate registration open in January
THE dates for Inverness music conference XpoNorth 2020 will be Wednesday and Thursday, June 24 and 25 when the event will return to Eden Court.
The conference and showcase is set to see a range of leading figures from across the international creative and cultural industries gather in the Highland Capital for two days of seminars, workshops, training events and live showcases – all free to attend.
XpoNorth will announce the first batch of speakers and key themes early next year and the event organisers say they are confident that next year’s event will be the most ambitious and innovative one to date.
Iain Hamilton, head of creative industries at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, said: "XpoNorth has developed an excellent reputation for connecting our attendees with a host of the most important national and global creative networks.
"Last year was undoubtedly our most ambitious and coherent edition, both in scope and range of content. "We’re looking forward to building on that in 2020. It’s important that XpoNorth continues to act as an important platform where the most relevant issues impacting and shaping the sector can be highlighted and discussed.
"We’re also committed to ensuring that the event continues to be as accessible as possible – and offers high-value experiences for attendees across all stages of their development.
"We’re also greatly looking forward to our well-established live showcase element which highlights exciting new talent along – and further integrating XpoNorth Digital into next year’s conference."
Free delegate registration and showcase submissions will open on the January 27, 2020 live on the website.
The conference and showcase take place over two days and nights in the Highland capital.
The only festival of its kind in Scotland covering craft, fashion and textiles; writing and publishing; screen and broadcast; digital and technology and music, XpoNorth is a unique event in the UK's creative calendar.
By day, XpoNorth hosts a packed programme of seminars and workshops featuring leading local, national and international professionals from across the creative and cultural industries. By night, the festival sets the city alight with creativity – from the event’s firmly established new music showcase sound tracking a host of city centre venues with over 60 of the hottest new acts around, to a specially curated short film programme and a range of relaxed networking events.
The work of XpoNorth in developing creative talent throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland continues throughout the year, with a range of free sector support programmes open to regionally based businesses.
XpoNorth is funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), City-Region Deal (Cumhnant Baile-Roinne) and The Northern Innovation Hub and delivered by Ironworks Venue.
