On Friday, October 29, Martin will be playing at Storehouse of Foulis near Evanton from 7.30pm. Tickets (£15) will be on the door and include a drink.

Then on Saturday he will play Garmouth and Kingston Golf Club from 8.30pm. The gig is free but donations are appreciated.

At both gigs, Martin will be joined by guest musicians Rupert Hughes and Niles King on fiddle.

The three will be working together on an album after current dates.

In London, there was a surprise guest joining Martin onstage at his most recent gig.

American guitarist Lenny Kaye was in town, set to play a date with Patti Smith at the Royal Albert Hall. But on hearing Martin was in town to play a gig that night, Lenny went along and got up onstage to join him
