Signing events in Brodie and Inverness

By Margaret Chrystall

WRITER Philip Paris will be doing two book signings on Thursday, June 6 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The Fearn writer's latest book Effie’s War is based on the mass evacuation in 1943 of the Tarbat peninsula, used to rehearse for D-Day. Since Effie’s War’s publication in paperback/ebook on June 6 last year the title has been brought out in large print and audio.

On Thursday You can hear Philip talking about his book and signing it at Brodie Countryfare from noon to 1pm and also at Waterstones, Inverness from 3-4pm.

Some of Philip’s earlier books will also be available at both venues – including The Italian Chapel, Orkney’s Italian Chapel: The True Story of an Icon and Casting Off.

Philip is pictured on the beach the military wanted to use for D-Day preparations.
