Australian sisters Germein follow up Little Mix support slot at Bught Park last summer with return to Inverness for headline gig at Ironworks

By Kyle Walker

AFTER a support slot for Little Mix in Inverness last summer, Australian sisters Germein are returning to the Highlands for a headline show at the Ironworks.

The trio – Georgia (guitar, keys), Ella (bass, electric cello) and Clara (drums) – arrive at the city venue on Sunday, June 30.

Adelaide sisters Germein have the kind of close musical partnership that can only be shared by siblings, and confirm they'll be dropping their highly anticipated new single "Little Part Of Me" this May.

Taking their lead from artists like Haim, Chvrches and Tegan & Sara, the sisters have explored a wide palate of musical styles over their time together – all while remaining recognisably pop.

Having wrapped up a 15 date UK stadium tour with Little Mix, Germein went on to release new tracks including Talking and Knocking at My Door.

“We realised it was time to take control for ourselves and really start making the music that we want to make on our own terms’” Georgia said of the newer songs. “We decided to record and produce ourselves in our home studio.

“When we hit play on our new stuff, we knew it was the musical vision we’ve had for ourselves finally coming to life.”

Tickets (£10) are on sale now and available from www.ironworksvenue.com. For more info about Germein, go to www.germeinsisters.com
