1 INDIE rockers Brownbear are set to come out of hibernation to make the journey north for a series of gigs.

The brainchild of singer/songwriter Matt Hickman, the group will play Elgin’s Drouthy Cobbler on Friday (doors 8.30pm) before headlining the Porch Session at MacGregor’s Bar, Inverness on Saturday night (doors 7pm).

Support at Elgin comes from Fionn McKerron while support at the Porch Session comes from Colin Larkman and Graeme Gilchrist, alongside Marc Davidson.

2 APRIL might not be the ideal time for your average pantomime – but Nairn Drama Club’s Sin De Rella isn’t your average pantomime.

The production kicks off on Friday and Saturday at the town’s Little Theatre, offering an innuendo-laden adult twist on the fairytale classic.

3 AFTER two sell-outs in 2018, OutDores returns for its fourth year of dance days with its Spring party.

Returning to its home of the Dores Inn once more, the all day dance event features sets from Chaos in the CBD, Sally C, All Good Dundee, Phazed and Jack Williamson alongside the regular OutDores DJs.

4 PUNK princess Toyah Willcox returns to the stage to celebrate 40 years in music, with a show lined up at the Ironworks.

The singer/songwriter behind Thunder in the Mountains and It’s a Mystery comes to the Ironworks on Saturday night with a set featuring songs throughout her entire career.

Support comes from The Media Whores. Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £20.

5 CELEBRATING the untold histories, stories and struggles of women throughout history, theatrical production Bonnie Fechters comes to Caithness this weekend.

The show – devised and performed by Morna Burdon – visits Dunnet’s Britannia Hall on Friday, followed by Lyth Arts Centre on Saturday with its stories and songs shedding light on the remarkable women whose histories have remained hidden.

6 STORNOWAY supergroup The Tumbling Souls are hitting the mainland for a special afternoon concert.

The country/folk band – fronted by Astrid maestro Willie Campbell – brings their ruckus to Hootananny on Sunday for a special ticketed show.

7 GAELIC singer, songwriter and broadcaster Mary Ann Kennedy brings songs from new album Glaschu with her to Eden Court next week.

The artist’s gig on Wednesday will feature her songs about growing up as an urban Gael – revelling in the wit and vivid songwriting of some of the great Glaswegian Gaels.
