Now award-winning trad-rock band Skerryvore will join the original line-up of The Peatbog Faeries, Wolfstone, Trail West, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Torridon, Rhythmnreel and The City Of Inverness Youth Pipe And Drums. Unfortunately, Blazin’ Fiddles will not make next year’s event.

A full second stage line-up is yet to be announced, but already confirmed is the return of a range of Highlands & Islands and Scottish craft food and drink suppliers plusmeet the makers sessions and a selection of children’s entertainment.

Original plans for this month’s event had included an expanded fringe programme, building on the event’s debut in 2019.

And news on the fringe for next year will be unveiled over the coming months, organisers say, revealing a programme of entertainment across many bars and venues in the city in the lead up to the main event at the Northern Meeting Park.

Promoter Dougie Brown said: ‘We were completely devastated when we had to cancel The Gathering this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“But we are delighted to have been able to secure so much for the planned incredible line up for next 2021’s Gathering Festival.

“By the time The Gathering 2021 comes around, I am sure we are all going to be in need of a big party, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Northern Meeting Park to celebrate and enjoy the very best of Scottish music, culture, food and drink.”

Tickets are now on from www.skiddle.com

And tickets will alsobe made available from local outlets in "due course".
